Campaign Leader and/or Campaign Executor for Human Rights

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated Campaign Leader and/or Campaign Executor for Human Rights!

Migrant Forum in Asia (“MFA”) is searching for a US based Campaign Leader and/or Campaign Executor OR a non-profit NGO to execute the US portion of a fully funded and fully developed international campaign focusing on migrant worker rights in Asia.

Key points:

·        Immediate start date

·        Full time for ~4 month campaign

·        Compensation in excess of industry norms and your prior compensation.

·        No travel except possibly to Asia to meet MFA

·        No fundraising

Desired attributes:

5 years substantive professional experience

Experience advocating for human/ labor rights or other social issues

Operational expertise (web site development, online petition, creating webinars, outbound mail and phone calls)

‘Gravitas’ to speak effectively as a peer to senior executives

High energy, risk-taking, entrepreneurial

Leadership to recruit, train and manage a small team

A talker/fighter, not a researcher/advisor

Some knowledge and exposure to the financial industry

The campaign specifically focuses on lobbying for better protections for migrant workers employed in Asia by specific global institutions and their affiliates. The campaign entails contacting board members, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) officers and influencers in and around the target institutions to advocate for the adoption of specific and realistic policies by their Asian subsidiaries.

The underlying strategy and arguments have been developed in consultation with industry experts and will form the basis for all campaign strategies. We emphasize that this is not a consulting, research or strategy development position. We are seeking a leader skilled in high profile adversarial engagement including public speaking, lobbying, media engagement etc.

About MFA:

MFA is a regional network of activists, NGOs and trade unions in Asia that is committed to promoting migrant worker rights. Founded in 1994 and with more than 50 member organizations in 19 countries, it is one of the largest networks of this type in the region and has been a key advocate in promoting the adoption of numerous UN conventions and frameworks relating to migrant/ domestic workers. MFA acts as an advisor to and coordinator between its members to forge concerted action against discriminatory laws and practices that harm migrant workers.

$8-$10K per month for individuals, NGO’s negotiable.
