POWER 4 Youth matches adult volunteers with youth for one-on-one tutoring/mentoring at supervised sites in Long Beach, California. Middle and high school teens meet weekly at local church sites (though it is not a church program) with their adult, with no cost to either participant. Volunteer tutor/mentors provide basic academic support and encouragement while mentoring the youth in their self-development. POWER 4 Youth provides training and support to all volunteers.
