Joint Action in Community Service (JACS)Joint Action in Community Service (JACS) is a national nonprofit volunteer organization formed in 1967. JACS recruits and trains people to serve as advisors to young men, ages 16-24, who are former Job Corps students. The role of a JACS advisor is to contribute to the ability of young men to solve their own problems. Volunteer opportunities are quite flexible and are perfect for individuals with very full lives. A volunteer's contact with a student typically is over the phone so you never even have to leave your house! We are looking for volunteers who are living in the mid-atlantic region of the United States (DC, DE, KY, MD, PA, VA, WV) but are also needed all over the country. For more information please contact JACS at (800)782-5227. |
