- Those who offer spiritual and financial assistance are specifically remembered daily in the prayers and service of LAMP ministers.
At LAMP Ministries we are increasing our attention to the homeless and hungry on the streets. More and more families and individuals are hungry, especially in the New York City area. For about 5 years, we had a street outreach in the South Bronx, using a canteen truck to bring simple food and the message of Jesus to those in need on the streets. That truck is now being used by LAMP among the poor of N. Appalachia. However, by God's providence, we have obtained a 2nd canteen truck for the hungry of New York City. We are privileged to share in feeding the multitude, in His name and with His love. This is another step in faith, but we gladly take it because we believe it is the Spirit's leading.
From past experience, we know that LAMP's canteen ministry requires a harnessing of many resources and talents. We very much need your help with it. Some of the needs are:
- Volunteers to go out with other staff to witness to the love of Jesus, the love of the Church, and to distribute food, hot/cold drinks, and Scripture tracts to those who come.
- Groups, families, and individuals to periodically make sandwiches.
- Volunteers to find bakeries, stores, etc. to donate food, paper goods, etc.
- People, who can pick up and deliver food, sandwiches.
- Families, groups, and individuals who can offer prayer support.
- New benefactors who would want to support the added expense that this particular ministry will create for LAMP.
