1) Marketing Volunteers Needed for New Website!

Be a key part of a new collaborative website project at www.baido.org! The network of Bay Area International Development Organizations (BAIDO) is seeking skilled volunteers to help market the website throughout the Internet. BAIDO is a network of progressive Northern California non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in partnership with communities around the world. Our mission is to promote the public’s understanding of -- and involvement in -- the challenges facing people globally.

As a marketing volunteer/intern, you will be working to promote the website to Internet audiences both in the U.S. and internationally. For those with a marketing background, this position would be a great resume addition! You will be working independently from your own computer, and you must have regular Internet access. All volunteers are connected by a special email discussion list.

The positions are part-time and unpaid (quite compatible with a full-time job). We are asking for at least a two-month commitment, beginning in Dec 2001/Jan 2002.

Required: Experience implementing an Internet marketing plan. (Some guidance will be provided.)

Preferred: Knowledge in the areas of global development, human rights and/or environmental issues.

BAIDO is a network of progressive Northern California non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in partnership with communities around the world. Our mission is to promote the public’s understanding of -- and involvement in -- the challenges facing people globally.

As a section editor, you will work with the 2 website Co-Editors on developing content for the topical areas of the website. You will be working independently from your own computer, and you must have regular Internet access. All volunteers are connected by a special email discussion list.

The volunteer positions begin in early March 2002, and are part-time (quite compatible with school or a job). They offer great, high-profile experience for budding experts. We are asking for at least a three-month commitment, with an average of 3-5 hours per week available.

Required: Experience writing and editing on global health or environment topics; Very aware of current events in the field

Preferred: Publishing experience
