The Anti-Cruelty Society

The Anti-Cruelty Society, a not-for-profit humane society in Chicago, IL, is always in need of quality volunteers to help with various programs and who can commit to a minimum requirement of 5 service hours a month. We are a full service humane society that offers an array of services to the Chicago community. Volunteers can help in many different aspects of the shelter including adoption room attendants, bathing and grooming, foster parenting, cat socialization, good manners, patient care, dog training, lost & found, pet visitation, adoption counseling, customer service, office work, and special events. Most importantly, providing special attention to the animals and assisting our staff with the "behind the scenes" of an animal shelter.

Volunteer Benefits:
- Spending time with animals who need love and attention
- Continuing education lectures by staff members and field experts
- Shelter store discounts
- Career experience
- Meet other animal lovers
- Seasonal parties and gatherings
